Schneewinkel ski region
From its ski mountain, the Kitzbüheler Horn, the "Kitzbüheler Alpen St. Johann in Tirol" extends far and wide into the sunny winter landscape. Beautifully flanked by the picture book mass of one of the most photogenic mountains of the "Kitzbüheler Alpen", the Wilder Kaiser. An ideal spot for families, easy-going and cross-country skiers and people who like to step somewhat shorter. For them, there are numerous cosy little hotels and restaurants nearby whose charms and passion attract many big and small patrons.
St. Johann in Tirol – the premier skiing resort in the Tyrolean “Unterland” (lower land)– offers everything you expect of a beautiful family ski area. Pistes for all abilities, sunny slopes, and above all lots of cosy inns and restaurants - 19 throughout the ski area – for refreshment. The 8-person Bauern-Penzing gondola lift in Oberndorf / Tirol carries you almost 2 km and 600 m up to Bauern-Penzing. From the mountain station of the new cable car, you then have a choice of sporty or family descents.
