The winner gene drives the world’s best skiers forward throughout the winter season; for them second place is defeat. But there is one big skiing event where that does not apply: the most difficult and most fascinating ski race of all, the famous Downhill on the Streif. Here it is still not whether you win or lose, but simply being part of this ski spectacular on 21 - 25 January 2009, when Kitzbühel stages the 69th Hahnenkamm Race.

Non-stop highlights
After the famous Hahnenkamm Downhill race, leading figures from the fields of sport, politics, business and the arts line up for the  KitzCharity Trophy, which means giant slalom fun for the skiers and onlookers alike. This “fun event for a good cause” is again being held to raise money for needy farming families in the mountains of the Tyrol.  Off the racing trails, it goes without saying that Kitzbühel will be where the action is, with endless parties and fun and a good time to be had by all. With numerous events in support of the sporting thrills, stalls set up in Kitzbühel’s old town center and live Hahnenkamm radio shows produced for Austria’s vibrant Ö3 radio program, the perfect atmosphere is assured that will again make the 2009 Hahnenkamm Race an unforgettable experience for one and all.
