Kitzbüheler Alpen: The best hiking experiences with "guaranteed pleasure"

 > Kitzbüheler Alpen: The best hiking experiences with "guaranteed pleasure"
The Kitzbüheler Alpen, with the Brixental, Hohe Salve and St. Johann in Tirol holiday regions open up to some 2500km of hiking trails. Between the Wilder Kaiser in the north and the Hohe Tauern National Park in the south, there is everything to discover on the moderate to challenging trails that criss-cross the region in all directions. The mountain huts and inns along the way invite weary hikers to rest and enjoy the typical local cuisine on the menu.

25 themed walking routes also boast plenty to see and discover. The ten mountain adventure worlds encourage children to take to the hills, sometimes even barefoot, to really experience the excitement that is found in nature, down to the Filzalmsee at Hochbrixen, up to the Hohe Salve in Hopfgarten and into the Alpinolino at Westendorf. The Alpine Flower Garden on the Kitzbüheler Horn can be reached via the Höhenstraße or the Horn-cable car, and a ride up the Harschbichl-cable car takes you to the Hornpark climbing wood. The “Moor & More Adventure World” on the Wilder Kaiser is also ideal for families.

Among the top hiking destinations for grown-ups is the Kaiserbachtal nature reserve, the Schleier Waterfall and the Eifersbacher Waterfall, the Griesbachklamm and the Teufelsgasse rocky labyrinth. A truly unique experience is a walk to the Pirsch with a local hunter. Endurance hikers can also rack up the kilometres in the Kitzbüheler Alpen thanks to 10 high altitude hikes, a number of tours over several days hiking from mountain hut to hut, as well as the long distance trails the Adlerweg and the Tiroler Jakobsweg. You can discover many of the most popular hiking trails with the free weekly hiking programme combined with such pleasantries as a mountain breakfast, cheese tasting, a picnic or trout fishing.
