Kitzbüheler Alpen: Tyrol's best bike experience - also for ladies
> Kitzbüheler Alpen: Tyrol's best bike experience - also for ladies
The Brixental, Hohe Salve and St. Johann in Tirol holiday regions in the Kitzbüheler Alpen are directly linked to a network of 1000km of cycle routes and 800km of mountain bike trails. In 2012 the region was commended by Mountain Bike Holidays as an “approved bike area”.
The international bike sports scene is often to be found pedalling through the mountains. The 18 road race bike routes, the Mozart cycle route and the Inntal route are ideal training courses for hobby road cyclists. Optimal training for the 45th “Radweltpokal” (24.–27.08.13) in St. Johann in Tirol – the largest biking event in the World. Bikeguiding Alpin in Hopfgarten offers weekly introduction courses with technique training for mountain biking as well as guided tours three times per week. This summer the Bikeacademy Kirchberg in the Brixental is starting daily bike tours in the Kitzbüheler Alpen for three different ability levels. In the Ferienregion Hohe Salve there is also a Bike- and Spa-weekend for Ladies (02.–04.08.13) on the programme; an opportunity for hobby cyclists to improve both their fitness and their biking techniques.
The Kitzbüheler Alpen are the World’s largest E-Bike-destination. Thanks to Movelo-Elektrobikes it is possible to reach your destination without difficulty, where normally only the biking experts would succeed. A large network of hire- and battery charging centres guarantees you won’t run out of power along the way.
Just some of the many reasons why the Kitzbüheler Alpen is the place to strive for your personal best time. Yet another plus is that the region boasts many cyclist friendly accommodations as well as the popular Kitzbüheler Alpen Summer Card with unlimited access to the 29 lifts operating in summer across 14 mountains. Mountain bikers can cut out a certain amount of the more challenging climbs to reach the higher trails and Downhillers have a chance to ride the Downhill trails several times per day. A particularly long descent for all-mountain-riders is on the Ehrenbachhöhe, the neighbouring mountain to the famous Hahnenkamm. The super long Fleckalm-Trail (7,5 km) begins there. The Sportberg Gaisberg in Kirchberg also boasts another downhill challenge, with a number of different trails on offer. The downhill course in Hopfgarten is a must for the craziest downhill enthusiasts.
